Comment Despite the name, 'Accrington Corporation Steam Tramways Company' was actually an independent company with no connection to Accrington Corporation, other than the usual leasing arrangements.

Following the municipalisation of the Haslingden line, services were initially provided under contract by Accrington Corporation, but using steam trams (and trailers) purchased from the ACSTCo by Haslingden Corporation. However, following electrification, tram cars (and their staff) were provided by Accrington, but with Haslingden Corporation tramway inspectors.
