Cambourne
and Redruth Tramways
The Cambourne and Redruth sytem was owned by the Urban
Electric Supply Company Limited (UESCoLtd). An
exceptionally fine staff photograph (from which the photo
below is taken) clearly shows employees wearing script cap
badges (non-underlined variety), with 'Motorman',
'Conductor', 'Inspector' and 'Porter' being in evidence. A
staff number, prefixed with 'No' was worn on the left
collar, with individual 'UESCoLTD' initials on the right collar.
Curiously, although staff of the UESCoLtd's only other
system (Glossop Tramways) had similar insignia, they had
neither the 'No' prefix nor the 'LTD' suffix. Buttons appear to be of
a plain unmarked design, though these cannot be made out
with any degree of certainty.
